I get what you’re saying, although with the years I came to appreciate Born Again more and Seventh Star is a personal favourite (yes, the furthest from what the classic Sabbath sound is considered to be but I adore Hughes’s voice) but they both have been available for streaming. Go figure…
Yes! Finally!
Tony Martin era is criminally underrated. Especially Headless Cross is fantastic. I never understood why they insisted on acting like these albums never happened.
I was starting to get into metal and I was always reading heavy metal magazines. One of them had an article about Savatage and how great the band was, and a review of their discography. They had given Hall of the Mountain King, Gutter Ballet and Edge of Thorns 10/10. I was sure I had heard Hall of the Mountain King (the song) before and liked it a lot but had never made the connection until that moment.
Next day I go out and buy Gutter Ballet. Still one of my favourite albums of all time. Couple of days later I also bought Hall of the Mountain King, Streets and Edge of Thorns.
One of my absolute favourite bands, top 3 easily! I wasn’t aware that no one had heard of them before, they were very popular and loved in the country and the decade I grew up in. Criss was by far the most emotional metal guitarist ever!
Come on guys, let’s get some love for Savatage here!
I quite like Pocket Casts and Overcast. Maybe check one of the two
