This won’t help PeerTube become mainstream either.
Hosting videos is extremely expensive, thus there is a financial incentive against hosting a PeerTube instance.
Unless PeerTube fixes the incentives, it won’t be sustainable long-term.

Fairphone costs cheapest in carbon footprint and disruption caused to copper mining communities.
It’s more expensive for you, sure, but it’s the least costly option in grand scheme of things.
It could work in theory as a form of sabotage, but I believe one would need to have great self-restraint to do it correctly.
It’s hard to notice the difference when you are
actually hurting AI industry by abusing their free tiers and poisoning training data
you rationalize your AI usage by telling yourself “I am not paying so I am in the clear” because you want to larp as freedom fighter without actually sacrificing any comfort
Both subjectively feel very similar.
So I would rather not risk becoming 2nd case and avoid AI altogether, unless you are some hacktivist who actually knows what they are doing.
They never claimed they do it to punish website owners though. I see it as them having found the experience annoying enough to opt out from using the service altogether

this is the shit that would transform the US to a beautiful place to live in
Social democracy alone could do that? You might be overestimating it then. Ideologies are not magic

This app must have been designed by devil to torture digital minimalists and UNIX philosophy people in the afterlife

I have seen multiple of those Windows debloater scripts online, but I struggle to understand which one is legit and which could be malware

At least one security researcher says Edge is the most secure option for Windows users.

62% home ownership in 1960’s for much smaller homes (on average 700 sqft) vs 65% now for an average of 2000sqft
62% -> 65% sounds reasonable.
700 sqft on average -> 2000 sqft on average is suspicious though. It’s possible stats got skewed by the top 1%, who are today richer than ever before, and own ridiculous amount of property. Median sqft perhaps would be more representative
I have a very hard time reframing things
Because you are not supposed to. Emotions exist one layer of abstraction lower than consciousness, hence frontal lobe can’t override them manually. It’s evolutionary safety measure
If you have arachnophobia, just think of it as the spider-man, this will surely do the trick /s

Batman didn’t cause those people to get sick or at risk of dying, thus it’s not murder.
But he did put (as I understand, I don’t remember the movie plot) Ra’s al in life-threatening situation, and chose not to pull him out of there, then it becomes murder.

I agree with the sentiment generally, but not your reasoning in this post. Although to be fair to you, I can’t really put my gut feeling into a cohesive argument here either.
However I did notice as well people seem to overestimate what law can do. I joined an ecoactivist group in my community, yet everything they do is petition the local government to pass or veto something, which obviously then get ignored.
But really even IF those petitions weren’t ignored, drafting a petition is the easier part.
The harder part is aligning power structure incentives with yours, or building your own superior power structures. Otherwise law isn’t worth shit, because power structures such as police or media or courts or Big Tech will prevail using more money, media influence, and thugs with weapons than you ever did.
I am not a tankie, but I believe Stalin was right on this one: “the only power comes out of a long rifle”

Why not spend 5 minutes and find a place that has exact same meals, but doesn’t use AI?

I would take Word (or LibreOffice Writer) bullet point list with prices and ingredients list over “pretty” AI menu at this point

Your point can still get across
Probably even sharper than with AI, because it looks cleaner and has less distracting elements

I might not be able to tell every time something is AI. That’s true.
But if a person has put zero effort making sure it doesn’t look like AI, then I have every right to call that out.
If you cheat, at least be smart about it and not get caught.
This is ridiculously meaningless diplomatic statement.
If they actually didn’t like the terms of the EU, they would stop exporting to the EU. Otherwise it’s just theatrics.
