How it works: Redditors give gold to posts, comments, or other contributions they think are really worth something. Eligible contributors that earn enough karma and gold can cash out their earnings for real money. Contributors apply to the program to see if they’re eligible. Top contributors make top dollar. The more karma and gold contributors earn, the more money they can receive.

Not just anyone can be a contributor. To join and stay in the program, contributors need to meet a few requirements: Be over 18 and live in the U.S. Only Safe for Work contributions qualify Earn xx gold and karma each month Provide verification information. You must have at least 10 gold and 100 karma to begin verification. NSFW accounts aren’t eligible for the Contributors Program

Provide the following information to get verified for the program and start earning: Email Personal Information Tax and bank account information

to add to this, it only seems to happen when a post has enough comments to actually scroll, like this post. other posts with non scrolling amount of comments don’t seem to be affected

not sure if this is a feature or not but whenever you collapse threads and then scroll to the top of the post without pulling to refresh ( to confirm info OP says to comment on, etc), the app acts like it is entering a new post and un-collapses all threads when you scroll back down… almost like the app refreshes and doesn’t save preferences until you get out of the post

all things considered, I am very impressed by how each instance had held up given the ~2000% increase in users over the last few weeks… yeah some apps were a little slow or unusable for bits and pieces, but issues seem pretty non-existent from what I’ve seen personally… seems I made the correct decision to try out lemmy and I’m excited to see where it all goes from here :]

jerboa won’t work until other instances update to the latest version, I wasn’t the biggest fan of it over connect or liftoff… but I love finding all these new apps to play with :)
