Hi there. I just installed my Lian Li “Uni Fan SL120 V2” kit last night. This is three fans hooked up to the controller box. And the controller box plugs into a motherboard USB header, a fan header, and an ARGB header and 2 SATA power cables.

OpenRGB identified that I have both a motherboard device (the ARGB pins) as well as a “Lian Li Uni Hub - SL V2 v0.5” device.

When using OpenRGB with the Lian Li device, it works fine. I can set the same effects as the LConnect3 software. The main trick is telling the OpenRGB software how many addressable zones you have on channel. It’s basically “16 per fan”. So if you have three fans connected together using one controller channel, you specify 48 zones to OpenRGB.

I had to experiment and reference LConnect3 to understand what all the effects were doing. (Some effects default to all the lights off - it took me a few tries to realize that you have to select individual colors. I was able to uninstall LConnect3 and just use OpenRGB directly for light control.

It’s a little flaky trying to use it over ARGB mode with the motherboard pins through the controller. Something I want to explorer further.
