They just need to have an “embellishment foul” like there is in the nhl (like this). The general nhl/hockey culture against this type of stuff helps a ton, but having a rule that even if you are fouled, if you embellish at all, you have committed a foul (and having refs that actually enforce the rule) would be amazing in my opinion.

Set a strict no embellishment rule like in hockey. Have it be retroactive too so even if you get away with it in the game, it can still be reviewed and you can still be penalized for it after the game.
