1 year agoYea I remember that team, the 2-peat Lakers. It was a crazy defensive team with Kobe and Ariza as well in '08-'09.
I feel pretty confident they run that lineup a couple times just to see what they have. It’s not a lineup you can run every game or team, but there are definitely matchups where they can.
For example, against the Heat. Jimmy and Bam can’t shoot 3’s so you’re relying on players like Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin, and Duncan Robinson to hit shots to win. And smaller teams like the Heat would just get absolutely bullied on the boards and have a tough time on defense as well.
