10 months agoGabriel Heinze deserves a mention for his love of the sliding scissor. Not top 5, but certainly in my top 10.
Also Scholes. Don’t think he was intentionally dirty but always a risk he could see red from nowhere.
Average youth player at a semi-pro team but near elite level fitness. Training session got switched one week and no one told me, turned out it was now the senior team on at that time. Coach said I could stay and by the end of the session signed me to the seniors. Few days later came on for my debut at 3-1 down, 3 assists later I helped us to a 4-3 win. I got bought a LOT of pints that night!
Packed it in soon after for uni. No regrets, I knew my level and I was overachieving based on my physical condition.
