Late Stage Capitalism@lemmygrad.ml•Private equity acquired more than 500 autism centers over the past decade, new study shows
3·7 months agoWhen did I say that i’m superior or it having to do with my genes?
Every person has a different set of skills and features. I for example have very bendy fingers. Do you want to call me a nazi for that too?
I suggest you start treating comrades with more respect.

Late Stage Capitalism@lemmygrad.ml•Private equity acquired more than 500 autism centers over the past decade, new study shows
31·7 months agoAutistics are hyper-exploited in capitalist societies but I too hear very little about it’s impact in socialist and dem-soc countries, or in the global south in general.
My theory to that is that people in the imperial core face a set of contradictions that autistic people on average cant solve and break down due to it. it is the overt cruelty vs the relative comfort which is ultimately bought with blood. The suicide rate is skyrocketing in the imperialist states, legal and illegal drug use is skyrocketing as imo self medication kicks in to not break down individually.
The tension of demanding our (autistics) hyper-exploitation and us being acutely aware of that could be a factor (such as through diagnoses ascribed as ‘pathological demand avoidance’ or other ‘developmental disorders’).
To this, after 25 years of self-studying psychology on and off, I would theorize that it shows the contradiction that autistic people often cant function in this environment and go the self stigmatizing and agonizing route of getting tons of diagnoses to somehow get taken off some of the burden which otherwise might lead to suicide.
Even apparent efforts to reframe autism in a positive light also positions us as exceptional, gifted, and thus groomable and exploitable. Whereas out of that context, epigentic behaviors as impacted by environment don’t seem to be so significant for accomodations (disability).
To this I want to offer a different perspective. The differences between autistic people are also clear in bourgois society but they are much more nuanced in a marxist perspective. Being gifted (as in having a special talent for e.g. spatial thinking, word association, memory, etc.) is real. People have different capabilities and denying such is ableist and reactionary imo. The difference imo is that bourgois society and psychology uses a binary approach which labels people as gifted or non gitfted, making them two “classes” which makes sense in an oppression perspective but of course it also makes sense in a socialist environment to test and build certain talents. This means, as with AI, being gifted or having certain talents is material reality and letting go of the dogmatism of denying that and not further trying to pull people back in their unique talents imo is the way to go.
Again, I think this would loudly scream for a marxist work on it so that we can have a stronger foundation and can set some things as given and throw out others without having to discuss them over and over. :)

7·7 months agoThe autism question is currently one of my least favorite as one faces some cruel contradictions alongside it:
- i dont think we have one percent of marxists in the western population, therefore the amount of non bourgois people who can attack this issue minuscule
- autism isnt a huge issue in socialist countries from what i have read so far
- culture war is only appropriate alongside class war and imo has no bearing on its own as it ultimately leads to dysfunctionality and sectarianism
My personal situation does not make the question easier to work on:
- being gifted and having virtually no theory of mind, I cant imagine what autism feels like for people who are not gifted
- being manyfold marginalized, yet privileged in some parts leads to mental health issues for me paired with the bourgois guilt economy
Material circumstances of course dictate that people have different capabilities. Meeting bourgois ableism head on is its own issue entirely.
From those contradictions my answer always is a dialectical materialist work on autism, maybe based on radical psychology as referenced in a prolespod episode of last year which was very good.
If you have additional suggrstions or ideas as how to take on this issue, feel free to voice them. :)

Late Stage Capitalism@lemmygrad.ml•Insecure work and the gig economy: Employment in Britain worse than reported, study finds
1·7 months agoI dont know why you’re being antagonistic but this violates rule three. Please stop putting words in my mouth and assuming my intent.
I mean well, as do all people on here and it is completely unnecessary to go after comrades.
If you feel like what I said could be said better or theory disproves my points or other constructive points, please make them or disengage.

Late Stage Capitalism@lemmygrad.ml•Insecure work and the gig economy: Employment in Britain worse than reported, study finds
2·7 months agoFeel free to be more specific. At this point i dont see why that isnt still the case. Of course it gives rise to fascism, which frightens people into e.g. reading (personal example) which makes them start forming educational circles.
Imo the biggest reason among many why the communist movement in the west is weaker today than after the war is the relatively good circumstances compared to before the war mixed with large scale disinformation.
We see this now as the austerity heightens again and the contradictions deepen. The government is starting mass manipulation campaign after campaign while fascism was building over decades, supported by the government.
But only now do the cracks show more deeply and people such as i have more arguments to show to others who dont have 8 hours uninterrupted time to study das kapital.
It is quantitative changes which then lead to qualitative ones. Thats what i meant with they need to get horrible.

Because science agrees that it increases productivity and what growth?

4·8 months agoVery interesting. I can only assume that theyre filling up the halls to push some numbers and lessen the recession figures.
Edit: oh and to split the working class so industry workers dont align with the others.

7·8 months agoI get a feeling this is some bs to bolster the year numbers for either the shareholders or the president to be honest. Everything else ist failing. Or do these parts go intoilitary vehicles as well? We are moving towards ww3 so maybe its dual use stuff?

6·8 months agoI feel that comrade.
I live off my wife’s income atm and we have enough left over to survive but thats pretty much it.
That isnt a situation that can go on forever and theory being correct it can only go in one direction, downward.
I calm myself in knowing that this will implode, no matter what I do. It is umpossible that this goes on more than ten years. No chance in hell.
But that is how it must go. The situation must get horrible. That is a fact. Only then will the most progressive forces emerge and help the others out of the water they are drowning in.
I watched “the communist” yesterday on youtube for free. Its a ussr film and it is absooutely spot on. I hope it helps you gain some revolutionary optimism.
That said, are you organized yet? I might have done bad things if i didnt have my comrades offline. Get together with one person who thinks like you. Think, read and talk together. And if shit is unbearable, you might find a solution with them. Organize! Your life depends on it.

Late Stage Capitalism@lemmygrad.ml•Insecure work and the gig economy: Employment in Britain worse than reported, study finds
12·8 months agoThere’s a huge contradiction to be pointed at for our working class populations.
The situation isnt great for workers atm. I can tell. But they think its gonna improve soon. That why they sit on their hands. Showing then that this is a repetition of the conditions of ww2 is not really helping either.
One reason being that the reporting is being propagandized, just as everything else. We as communists should probably be the ones pointing at the situation being much worse than is being reported.
We have to get out of the tailist position and get in front.
Please points out any oversights please. Any ideas?
Agreed. I might have misunderstood. I think black shirts and reds as well as washington bullets are pretty spot on in that regard.
I dont currently see how the book can seem dated. I laughed when I read it a week ago how shockingly current it is. Like the fact that international banking is basically the mafia. The imf is like the number one evidence for it.
While those are technically true, they are inconseuqential at best, plain wrong at worst.
Yes, the dems could be pushed left a little over a long time in theory. But practice has shown that this is not achievable since all other material circumstances are against it.
The “least bad” option is a communist party, absolutely not the dems.
Voting is not going to help half as many people than going to the next soup kitchen or neighborhood meetup and organize there.
I hate these soc dem apology posts. Biden has blood on his hands up to his shoulders.
Trotskyist permanent revolution bullshit.
Seeing the downvotes, I would love to see some actual debate in the comments. There are some solid arguments in the video which I believe allow for some debate.
How about making your case instead of lashing out?
Is it not true that fascists in ukraine burned people alive in the days of the euromaidan? Is it not true that the human rights watchdogs stationed in donetsk were recording massive attacks coming from ukraine prior to the invasion? Is it not true that even using russian language is banned in ukraine and has for some time? Is it not true that multiple people have been killed when forcefully kidnapped for war duty?
Its really late for still roleplaying as if the ukraine conflict wasnt a western manipulation game. This is documented on wikipedia, of all places.
People who still fall for the USA installing puppet regimes to keep dominating the world as “peace” really need to get a grip.

Fully agree. I think it is important, same as the recent discussion about cutlure, that we band together to work out these things and create actual scientific socialist perspectives on this instead of letting the reactionary west dictate the discussion. o7
