Start by limiting your technology usage. Want to know what to eat? Just go for a walk or drive. Want to learn something? Check out a book from the library. Get a physical notebook and write in that. Write your thoughts. Take notes for memory. Just practice every day. I personally don’t carry a phone around with me all the time. Going on a walk with just an mp3 player forces me to be alone with my thoughts and music.

nuclear powered ion drives are hyper efficient, but the thrust is so low. im thinking about developing a space fleet doctrine. ion drives are definitely necessary for carriers and cargo, but i’m wondering about which ships use what engine types during combat, and how those tactics could play out.

signal is easier than matrix to get an account and chat, but matrix has better features for gaming, and also doesn’t require a phone number on a smartphone, which not all my friends have. i use signal for work, matrix for personal chats.

the conductor keeps time, communicates dynamics and rhythms that are more subtle than what is written on the sheet music, listens to everybody to keep the ensemble balanced. there’s a ton of nonverbal communication. this is more necessary in classical music where tempo moves around and there isn’t a ton of percussion to follow. in jazz, especially smaller groups, you can listen to the piano and drums to follow the tempo. but with 60 plus musicians, it’s really difficult to stay together when the tempo changes throughout a long piece.

I did compositing! It was a blast to work on, we had the game on an arcade cabinet at our studio. We shared an office with Star Trek Lower Decks so there were cardboard cutouts of TNG characters everywhere lol.
