In some cases they will refuse to sell you parts. In other cases even if you find a way to replace the part, it won’t work w/o software unlock that only they can do.
That feeling wears off quickly once you have to deal with Tesla customer “service”. Then, when it is out of warranty and simple repaira cost thousands, you really get the regrets…
If your area has one of the rare good service centers, might go better than for most, though.
