1 year agoFarmer’s league has two parts, lack of competitiveness, and overall lack of quality. (For example Bayern have won most of the last 10 Bundesliga titles, but I’m not calling that a Farmer’s League). Yes we meet the first one, but not sure about the second one, Man City are current European champions after all. Maybe defer this one until December and we see how many qualify through to the Champions League knockouts.
Ah but it gets more complex than that.
If a game is scheduled at 3pm on a Saturday and one team is involved in Thursday night European action, the game is postponed to 2pm Sunday. Makes sense, it would be a bit unfair to make a team play roughly 41 hours after they finished the previous game (which may have been a five hour flight away), especially if the other team has not played since the previous weekend.
But the game is still protected by the blackout. So even though it is now on a Sunday, you still can’t watch it live. It can happen to multiple games in a week, all of which are affected by this silly rule.
