I bought a v1 Switch to mod and sold my physical collection. I still barely touch it for some reason

90’s games like Quake and Half Life, typically indie games like Hollow Knight, low end emulation like GBA, some native ports like Mario 64.

Basically just crank the TDP Wattage down as low as it can go on a stable framerate.

As a guy that doesn’t have a windows device besides a mac with bootcamp partition, I would avoid Xbox. I got one to try it out but it just annoyed me. Updated it when I got it, couple weeks later another update, then another update. Also the ergonomics aren’t my favorite. Too clicky and noisy.

8bitdo is really good after having bad experience with their products. It’s built very well and is feature heavy, but you can’t use everything. Place it second but I use it the most since swapping the ABXY buttons.

Dualsense is my top one at the moment. Feature heavy, great ergonomics, has functional gyro, no latency issues. Only con is the battery life is pretty meh. Also I prefer ABXY over the PlayStation layout

Wait, your rear programmable buttons work?

I’ve tried three-four different controllers and I still find Dualsense to be the best one with gyro, analog triggers, and a programmable mic button which is quite unique.

As for waking up the system, either get that one universal remote(think it’s sold out) or forget it. The only one that’s worked so far is the official Steam controller but it sacrifices a lot of controls modern controllers use

I’ve bounced from Xbox series to PS5 Dualsense to 8bitdo Ultimate.

Dualsense is just the most seamless one with no latency issues and feels amazing, even has gyro which makes it the best to me. But I only use it if I’m playing PS2 or an FPS. Haven’t owned a PlayStation since the 2, but this is a very good controller.

Ultimate controller is my standard controller for PC gaming. Can swap between Switch and Steam Deck very easily, but a big con is having gyro and the rear paddles not usable unless in Bluetooth mode. Also sometimes the 2.4ghz dongle doesn’t connect, so having to unplug and plug back in gets annoying.

Lastly Xbox. Never was an Xbox guy but wanted to give it a shot. Decent ergonomics, but needed a controller update on Windows to be usable which was a hassle(I have a MacBook). No gyro, the loudest of the three controllers, needs updates every now and again or it won’t work. Not a good experience.
