Deep Learning Super Smearing?
No thanks, it looks like ass in youtube videos with compression but all the reviewers ‘never notice it’ for some strange reason… they don’t get to keep the card if they do ;)
Tried cables? Tried RMA?
Yeah it’s about this now in EU, 1850~ or more for cheapest 4090s and XTX can be had around 1k or less (1100 for the Sapphire Nitro at most). Value is absolutely not worth it so I expect more 7900xtx sales as a result of this. I’d rather spend that extra on a big OLED or more ram/ssd/etc.
Its pricing and pathetic vram make it a turd for long term. It should be cheaper than or same price as the xtx at most.
choose nvidia if you like artifacts, latency and smear from framegen+DLSS sure. If you can’t see them, it must be great
Yes. It’s the best value high end GPU on the market with the XT similar. 4080 is a turd. 4090 is now 1800+ bucks for moderate performance increase for almost 2x the price…
390 was a 290 refresh with slight clock bump, bit meh but did fine. Was when AMD didn’t have much $$. There were dual GPU version of it (red devil 380x2 IIRC). 7870 did well for midrange but the 7950/70 overshadowed it as flagships.
290x was a titan killer basically. Loved that card (I donated mine) but IMO the 7970 was better as it was an OC beast.
Yeah the x800xt was also a chad. It equalled or beat the Nvidia 6800s etc, in my country people were nvidia brainwashed so didn’t know much about that beast. I bought one on launch.
7950 was also a great card, save the money, unlock it and they also can OC very well.
7970 should’ve been #2 or #1 IMO. It was their greatest GPU in terms of overclockability. It launched at 925MHz. My reference one clocked to 1.3GHz on the stock cooler (40% OC) and ram also went to the moon (not too far though, e.g. it gained perf, not lost it due to ECC like some people do). Loud but fast. It was faster than the next generation from Nvidia lmao.
Sure it was a golden sample but damn it was insane to get that much performance for free.
Agreed. been building pc’s around 2 decades now. RAM is something that really helps longevity of a system build. I ran a 2600k with 16gb of ram for 12 years, when I bought it everyone said it was overkill. New PCs now have about 16gb often lol… enough said. New rig is 64gb 6000 cl30, basically double or quadruple whatever is standard today and you’ll be set.
Same thing in New Zealand with 4090 listings at half price. Some are reputable accounts that have been hacked which makes it worse.
