Om maar iets opvallends te noemen:

Vanaf 2026 gaat de overdrachtsbelasting omlaag “om het investeringsklimaat te verbeteren”. De belasting op het kopen van een huis wordt teruggebracht van 10,4 naar 8 procent voor beleggers in woningen. Hierdoor moet het aantrekkelijker worden om te investeren in huurwoningen.

Dit gaat dus ook (of misschien zelfs alleen?) over het kopen van al bestaande huizen - ofwel, beleggers die er niet voor zorgen dat er nieuwe huizen worden gebouwd, maar gaan concurreren met mensen die een huis voor eigen bewoning willen kopen.

Ah, gotcha.

Gnome itself is actually not bad. It has a full screen menu and arrangeable application icons and folders, but I cannot group them the way I want, let alone resize them.

I don’t think resizing is an option, but isn’t it possible to drag one app’s icon on top of another app’s icon to create a group?

I think an important one to look out for is who are the vice presidents. Those (and their posts) are probably the more important ones.

Other important people are the Parliament president and the president of the Council (roughly equivalent to a country’s senate). Understanding the three bodies of Commission, Parliament, and Council is the lowest hanging fruit towards understanding the EU in general.

I think a challenge is that lots of site show ads or links to other articles in the middle of the text, which is not what you want to end up in reader mode.

Funny how people were interpreting the survey itself as a way to pretend that everybody wanted AI even when they didn’t - yet somehow it was possible that it didn’t end up in the top 10 😅

(Also understandably, this won’t be 1:1 the roadmap, for the caveats they mentioned in the post. Still helpful!)

As expected, nobody cares about “reader mode”.

Whaaat? Reader mode is fantastic! I feel like everyone who knows about it, loves it, it’s just that few people know about it.

Edit: ah, it’s top 10, so actually one of the most popular features.

It’s not like the baby really cares. Moving colourful stuff that makes a sound, what more could you want?

Volgende verkiezingen zijn toch wss in 2025.

Twee dingen die me opvielen:

Voor twee extra kerncentrales wordt 9,5 miljard euro uitgetrokken.

Dat is veel geld! Cultuursubsidies waren altijd 50 miljoen oid?

Verder komt er zo snel mogelijk en in elk geval binnen een jaar een wetsvoorstel voor een nieuw kiesstelsel voor de Tweede Kamer. Het kabinet werkt daarbij aan invoering van 10 tot 12 kiesdistricten met regionale kandidaten en een landelijke lijst. Dat moet de regionale band tussen kiezer en gekozene versterken.

Met andere worden, de stem van iemand in het ene dorp wordt minder waard dan die van iemand in een ander dorp :/

Oh, en als bonus: dit duurt nog even, maar wel nice.

Het eigen risico wordt in 2027 verlaagd naar 165 euro.

De pers staat zelf onder druk om aan waarheidsverwaarlozing te doen, omdat ze beticht worden van partijdigheid zodra ze zelf stelling nemen, via media (aka YouTube-kanalen) die actief het onderscheid tussen feit en fictie proberen te ondermijnen. Aangezien ze bestaan bij gratie van de consument of de politiek, zijn ze zo kwetsbaar, helaas.

I mean, there’s that, but while there’s rough consensus that a bit of inflation is a good thing for the economy, it’s not undisputed fact, the exact target number isn’t undisputed either, neither is whether it would be a bad thing if we just had inflation way higher than that, or how to measure inflation in the first place, and the benefits to the economy don’t necessarily translate to a specific person’s situation. So it’s not necessarily just ignorance, and thus doesn’t necessarily justify condescension.

I think they’re saying that while it’s good that things are getting worse at a slower rate, they’re still getting worse.

Of course, one can argue about at what level of inflation things are still getting worse.
