I was so worried about this game being bad. Not that I didn’t trust them to make a game as good as the first Frost Punk, but more that some of the expansions for the first game were pretty meh. Still good, but nothing like the original experience of the game. Anything above a 7 is a great sign as it’s not a game for everyone. The fact that it got a decent amount of 8’s and 9’s is even better. I can’t wait to play it!

Every time I’ve ever had a big test, a presentation, a job interview, the first day on a job, a meeting, a doctors appointment, a big trip the next day, and literally everything else you can think of, I have stayed up all night. At first it’s an issue of anxiety, but by 3 AM it turns into “well if I fall asleep now I can’t trust myself to get up in the morning so I might as well stay up all night.”

Regardless, I still got better results than Google.

My favorite one recently is constantly telling me to keep straight to remain on a highway like 7 times before I need to actually get off the highway. Glad I turned off the sound a long time ago otherwise I would have lost my fucking mind.

I was honestly getting so frustrated the other day at work when searching for something very specific and coming up empty handed. Tried DuckDuckGo and even fucking Bing and found what I needed in a matter of seconds. Google search is trash now. I have to go to the second page or further just to find something that isn’t an ad, AI response, or reddit. None of which are helpful.

I don’t even buy from Amazon anymore. The fact that everything I want to buy has 4.5 stars or higher is already suspicious. I’ve seen reviews for stuff that aren’t even related to the product along with garbled reviews that were obviously generated by AI. I’d rather just go to the store than trust anything on Amazon. And none of this even scratches the surface when you realize Amazon sells things that are straight up dangerous. From faulty fuses that could burn your house down to auto cleaning litter boxes that will kill your cat. All from drop shipping companies you can barely pronounce.

Edit: Oh yeah and don’t forget Amazon bribes people with gift cards to make positive reviews and they delete negative reviews. You literally can’t trust anything on the entire site anymore.

I mean it’s gotten to the point where I can’t even keep track of all the different AI being pushed by companies. My prediction is some company is going to make a super efficient and helpful AI and everyone will start using that as a base point. Like how every company wanted a website before they all just migrated the majority of their information to social media like Facebook and Twitter. And let’s be honest, most of the big companies making AI are not going to be the ones to do it. And even though they are improving, they are more interested in making money than better AI. We haven’t seen a major breakthrough in months and the majority of progress is minimal. Every time they come out with a new model it’s usually just the same with more bells and whistles.

I don’t know, if I was getting laid off I’d prefer to stay home so I don’t have to drive.

This just seems like they are trying to take a shortcut that might end up having unforeseen consequences. I have no problem with AI upscaling as a technology. It’s already proven its merit with almost all triple A games that have come out in the past few years. But this just seems like a way to push the cost off onto consumers by making them buy more expensive hardware at the cost of efficiency. Games are so poorly optimized these days that this just seems like another way to release games that run like ass. If you see this as a benefit in any way, just remember that we will all be paying the extra cost that they get to save.

And of course there’s gonna be people that’ll just be like “upgrade your PC, bro” which just makes us fight amongst ourselves instead of fighting the companies that are fucking us over. We’ll fight each other for hours on end about how shitty someone’s PC is before we even consider that the game they are playing is so poorly optimized it’s a miracle it even works on a high end PC. It’s already to the point that a $4,000 PC isn’t even enough to play some common triple A titles at a good frame rate. I can play God of War at the highest setting with no issues whatsoever but can’t even play Jedi Survivor at a stable frame rate. Sure a better PC would achieve better results, but that’s not a hardware issue.

If I remembered I’d have an answer. All I know is that I was specifically looking to export a csv and couldn’t find it. It was a new computer and they were like “just use 365” instead of installing Microsoft Office like every other computer. I ended up just installing LibreOffice until they got mad at me and installed Microsoft Office.

Microsoft 365 is fucking garbage. I tried using it one time on my work computer and couldn’t even export an Excel sheet into any other format besides a PDF and an Excel file. The only two things I never need to export an Excel sheet as. I couldn’t even export it as a god damn text file. And the fact that I need an Internet connection makes it so much more finicky. I guess on the plus side when the Internet is down I don’t have to do my job until it comes back.

Yeah, my friend that shot himself in the head a couple years back would also like to know.

I haven’t figured out how to straight up have a video as a post. I hate posting a YouTube link or putting it in the body. If I knew how I’d make an amazing video with CGI and fireworks just to post it here.

Maybe later on, but in the beginning everyone was hyping NFTs and companies were trying thousands of different ways to put NFTs onto their platform. The only difference is what side you are on.

I’m not saying NFTs are like AI. AI has actual potential. I’m just saying lot of technologies are more hype than substance. My life has changed zero percent since AI came out. If anything it’s been more annoying and made things like Internet searches more frustrating. And when I saw that new ad for Google Gemini as they vaguely tell you what it can even do or be used for, the same thought came to my mind, “Yeah, but what is it even for? Do you guys even know?”

I wish this wasn’t true, but I’ve been in my fair share of lobbies where shit gets real fucked up real fast. The only solace I get is that they are probably either really lonely in real life, terrified to even talk to women, or self conscious about their masculinity. Or all three.

Low FPS isn’t the worst. I’ve played games on plenty of potatoes. Nothing is better than a buttery smooth FPS, but it’s not the end of the world.

A bad team mate happens but it’s just the way it is sometimes. Dude could be new to the game. Unless they are straight up throwing I can get over it.

Usually after the first few times, my mom would usually get the picture. It’s a little annoying but it’s usually pretty brief (unless I was in trouble)

But connection issues? You can fuck right off with that. I can’t tell you how many times my Internet just turns off in the middle of a game for no reason besides fuck you. And Internet lag is the fucking worst because, unlike the other options, you literally can’t do anything about it. Everything else you at least have some control over. Bad FPS? Lower the settings. Bad teammate? Try your best to carry and make up the difference. Mom calling you? Just don’t be rude and say it’ll take a minute. Bad Internet? Your ISP is like “lmao fuck you it’s just shitty today. Too bad we’re the only option in town.” I’ve had some ISPs that will just turn off my Internet for a few days for no reason and I have to call a technician to get it turned back on. They’re always like “oh man it was turned off for some reason I don’t know what happened.”
