  • Hunter Biden. Guy fucked up A LOT and owned up to it. People love that. It shows that he’s real. He’s had life experience, and not all of it gleaming. Platner was the same way (as far as we knew at the time). Angels are like unicorns in this day and age, sir, especially when a large percentage of the young male population had some hand in the war on terror. It did last 20 YEARS after all. Are we to disenfranchise ALL of them just because they had commanding officers that put them in places and told them to do things that were unsavory? Are we to condemn out right the follies of misplaced patriotism shown by impressionable boys in perpetuity, even as they evolve into men? This was the question Mainers had to ask themselves. There’s an old saying about appearances and paying dues: People are alot like pencils. It’s easy to look sharp when you haven’t done any work. THAT was the narrative Platner was purporting. Did we get had? Yes, and we’ll have to live with that, but at least we are learning from the error, which is more than we can say about Trump supporters. My point was to not lump us in with them. We are NOT the same.

  • A fly in the logical argument is that with increases in available nutrition vis-a-vis caloric density of available food, it’s skewing the onset of puberty toward younger children. 18 used to be the cutoff because that’s when puberty was most likely to start, on average. It was never really about emotional maturity, at least until recently (AND A GOOD CHANGE IT WAS!). Puberty is a body mass coded trigger, not so much an age related one. I think I heard of one medical case where a girl who was only 8 years old had begun puberty because she had gained so much weight by that point. An outlier, for sure, but the point still stands. I’d say these sickos need to learn some basic self regulation, but then again we are talking about group of people who have outsourced their morality to an imaginary metaphysical “presence” in the sky. Personal accountability was never really a strong compass in their lives, clearly.

  • Krammer: “hey whatchu guys talkin about”

George: “Some guy offered me some pills”

Krammer, suspiciously interested: “What, like some drugs? That’s a bad scene George!”

Jerry: “Not to worry Krammer, George turned him down.”

George: “No water. Can’t take pills with no water!”

Krammer: “Kind of weak reason to turn down pills, but good on you! I made that mistake once- (dramatically) NEVER AGAIN.”

Jerry: “Why am I not surprised?”

Krammer: “Guy claimed he was some new age Indian Yogi, had the robes, whole bit! I was out for three days, and when I came too, I was on a fishing boat 30 miles off of Nantucket!”

George: “You never told us you were a longshoreman.”

Krammer: “I wasn’t. They pulled me in with the catch. Apparently I thought I was a tuna!”

[edit] (Mixed up who was being offered the pills, doesn’t change the scene though.)
