Appeals don’t mean anything anyway.

On a previous main account, I got several false-flag temp bans (talking about bigotry that I’ve faced reported as “bigotry/hate”) and I successfully appealed each one, but after 3 temp-bans (for me, may differ for others), it escalates to a perma-ban anyway, that’s what an admin told me when I tried to appeal my perma-ban, along with “nothing we can do about it.”

So I made a new main account, lol.

I’m surprised they didn’t just ban you and then immediately mute you, that seems to be the default mod strat on Reddit. Maybe the WC mods are especially argumentative so they don’t?

Power-trippy mods love reporting mod messages as harassment though, even when it’s just some mild disagreement.

One time I got banned from Sub B (a subreddit I’ve never posted in) for posting in Sub A, and when I responded to the mod message asking what the ban reason was for since I’ve never posted in Sub B, they tried to argue some stupid bullshit that I never even said and then clearly reported me for mod harassment even though I barely said anything so I caught a site-wide temp ban, also for 3 days.

And when it comes to 7 day or less site-wide bans, it’s a mystery whether the admins even respond to your appeal before the ban runs out on its own. And then you can catch a perma-ban for getting so many temp-bans anyway even when you successfully appeal them, because it automatically escalates to a perma and the admins won’t do shit about it.

I lost an account that way because I would post about transphobia that I’ve faced, it gets false-flagged by bigots trolling trans subs, and I successfully appealed them, but successful appeals clearly don’t mean anything anyway other than your ban ending sooner.

It’s probably because so much of the moderation is AI slop now, lol, I’ve made fun of MAGA voter logic and gotten my posts removed for “bigotry,” and then my appeals get denied or just flat out ignored.

Funny how when I report legitimate transphobic comments, they somehow “don’t break content policy,” but if I complain about bigotry that I’ve faced, I’m the bad guy. Unless making fun of bigots is the “true” bigotry?
