That’s totally fine! For a similar reason I have an account on Feddit.de, it’s a fun way to learn the language throught the memes. Had to unfollow the community from my other instances though. 😅
Hehe then don’t forget to make your back ups before month end!
You’ve been given some solid suggestions, so I’ll add that you can simply block ich_iel to prevent it from flooding your local feed, should you sign up at Feddit.de 👌
It’s very sad to see Feddit.ch go! I want to thank you for the great 8 months I’ve had here and all the time you dedicated towards the running of the instance. All the best!🙇♀️
Oh I see, how refreshing to hear this insight of yours!
Wow! That’s totally fine about the lack of regular mobile usage. While this isn’t very common to hear, I’m sure you have your reasons for why this and your current set up works for you.
That’s very unfortunate. Up until recently this server has very stable and Lemmy itself is going through growing pains too but I’m sure it will get better and performances will improve as you’ve put it.
I’m glad you’re willing to stick around. It does help to have a few alts though.
Well said about the linked tool.
Do you use any mobile clients or alternative front ends for Lemmy ? It can make the experience so much better.
I’m sorry for the late reply. Thank you for such a thoughtful reply, and that’s a very good work around that you provided for Feddit.ch communities.
How are you liking it on Lemmy so far? I remember when one of my home instances went down last year, I had backed up my subscriptions there and imported into new instance using the Lemmy Account Settings Instance Migrator tool
https://github.com/CMahaff/lasim
However I don’t think it is compatible with instances running Lemmy 0.19 and later, and there might not a need for it since instances running 0.19 and later should have a built in account import/export feature.
Beats me about the possible configuration problems that you mentioned. I really hope the admin is okay.
NP, I’m sorry for the late reply. Some others were reporting similar issues on this thread here:
I’ve been experiencing the same and I don’t have an answer for it, sorry. I hope our instance’s admin is okay. 🙏
Happy holidays to you, hope you’re been enjoying the season as well!
Thank you for the update and your dedication to keeping the instance running smoothly.
What a terrible way to go, I’m so sorry they were in the wrong place at the time.
This felt very raw, real, and brutally honest, I applaud Ren for sharing their experience, thoughts and feelings in this format.
Thank you for sharing! I’ve never heard of the artist before but I want to hear more of them now.
I’m sorry to hear about your episode, I hope the time away is helping and that you will feel better soon♥️.
This week I’d like to dive more into the self-help material that I have and to also set a combo of long and short term goals.
Thank you for creating this community, I had hoped for one to pop up here on Lemmy.
I’m not diagnosed myself but I’ve many of the symptoms which tend to manifest about 2 weeks before the start of my period. I hate what it does to my mood, the lethargy it brings and the way I lose interest in many of the things that I like doing. It’s so hard to cook or be around others and I swear I lose IQ points too. What I really would like is to manage this condition, so I can reclaim my life.
For me, there is grief in having to explain to others why I don’t want to go.
I want to eat this! Thank you for sharing the recipe :)
This is beautiful, I feel something like pride recognising some of the communities on this and knowing that communities came together to make this a reality!
You’re welcome! Agreed, this is felt and I can safely say that out of the other instances I use, here feels like one of the most stable of them all!
Thank you for keeping us running on the latest software!
I’m not sure if this is what you’re asking for or even if it will work but I found a tool for migrating accounts:
https://github.com/wescode/lemmy_migrate
To answer your other question, I find the site can be accessed briefly on evenings, night time. If you want to log in you could try using one of the alternative front ends for Lemmy such as Voyager, Alexandrite or Photon.
They work on both desktop and mobile browsers but they won’t allow you to export account data.
Jerboa on Android, still works for me, so I use it to access here.
