Right, like if you did cut or grind it out how do you propose to get a new stud back in?

Considering it’s a wagon, that’s a really good deal. Assuming there’s no hidden damage.

I don’t see what year it is, but bear in mind the 2006-2008(mid year) had a pretty serious balance shaft issue. If oil is changed reliably, with 8k or less miles between changes, it still tends to be reliable. Just be on the lookout for camshaft correlation codes. If it has them, it’s going to be a problem

One of the biggest scams is “sealed for life” from manufacturers. For them, the life is 50k miles.

The reality is, every Mercedes transmission is designed for regular fluid and filter changes. It should be changed every 30-60k miles.
