Teachers are understaffed and underpaid. You cannot even afford to be dismissive with your kid’s education.

Have you seen what kind of people a spoilt child turns into? It’s tyranny. That’s not a selling point.
This reminds me of the simpsons when Lisa learns what kind of life her teachers live so she decides to be much nicer to these people who spend so much of their days with children sacrificing to a life of service and little thanks.
But you’re the opposite.
Face it: kids can be a lot. Sometimes you got to own that you were the little shit in someone’s life sometimes.

All those companies need to do is take a knee to trump and they could literally inject cyanide into their food and he’d be all for it.
He might sound like he has a momentary good idea but do not forget for a second all these assholes are transactional.
Secretary of health says this? Isn’t that like full on admitting he isn’t qualified for the job he’s been given?
And it’s only a week after trump admitted he didnt now if he should protect the constitution.
Amateur hour has arrived.
They are trying for over 300 b. The entirety of Canada is 400b. Meanwhile they (westerners) work in Alberta (contributing to it from there ) and retire in bc and Toronto(collecting it there as they age).
The actual amount they contribute is approx closer 100b ( which still seems like a lot but that is only because of work age is usually in Alberta over in the west so a bunch of people influx to work there and pay into cpp while they are in Alberta at that point) and now Alberta wants to try to grift it from the average Canadian who should be allowed to maintain it regardless of where they live over the course of their life.
And then they got even more greedy and lopped on a tonne of made up interest (which isn’t allowed to exist anywhere else in Canada but Alberta apparently) and blatantly ignored shifted population per province(maintaining nobody moves provinces as they age out of work) which makes this an illegally inflated imaginary number they think they are owed off the backs of all Canadians expected to pay an interest to Alberta who may not even end up collecting cpp ever in their lifetime either as it’s only ensured when you take from it. And as we know with life: there is no insurance a person makes it to pension age.
They are trying to use this to manipulate all of Canada in which they want to lower the pension for old age making it less return. It’s already too low for inflated cost of living as it is. Like $700 a month. Which is really nothing. Impossible to live near a city or anywhere close to facilities on that.
I would add a side note on CPP that it’s complete horse shit that anyone pays into a cpp via tax on their income but then gets taxed by the CRA again as income when they pull it out like some sort of dismissing return but I’ll admit that might be off topic and more for a stern letter for the MP to focus on that glaring problem instead.
Sillyglow@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Can machine-grown lettuce help cut Canada's reliance on U.S. greens? This farmer is betting on it11·20 days agoNo. Ffs. It’s bears. You live in Canada. This is a reality there are bears here. Not everything is frigging politics and capitalism.

It’s not even political so it’s weird how it even went there. You live in Canada. There are bears here.

It’s important to recognize why this is. It attracts bears and this is harmful to the bears and humans. The bears end up getting killed just for foraging. Important detail as on its own it just sounds like cities are trying to stomp out sustainability but it’s way more story to it than just preventing for the sake of prevention.
They always talk about wading through a bunch of weeds or whatever but hey, I get it, no one has that kind of time anymore to wade through a bunch of assholes to find the fhe one decent person anymore. Life gets short. It can become the kind of noise and drama you just don’t want to mar up your life with.
Out of the plethora of coffee dates from the online apps I’d say there were approx 90% of the people on there that really shouldn’t be dating others and should be in some sort of counselling or just straight up scammers. Several hadn’t been in any relationship that lasted more than 6 months for a good reason.
Even in the last 10% maybe there was no chemistry but I did make some friends. One I’m still good friends with even today since Covid times.
It took about 3 yrs to find someone worth dating with chemistry. Like seriously it’s like friggin career training these days.

The experience shouldn’t offend the data. The data comes from the experience. If you keep discounting occurances it will seem rare and unusual. that’s perpetuating a fallacy.
A close friend of mine has a son who hadn’t had seizures in a few years and they thought his seizures were being managed and that they found the right medication and treatment. Then suddenly he had a grand mal but luckily while they were out someone else was around. Took them all by surprise. he had a cardiac arrest and everything.
This does count.
It becomes less rare when you stop belittling experiences about it. It should absolutely be taken more seriously.
What if you’re wrong?
The meds aren’t always an insurance. she could be between meds if in case she’s had recent episodes and needing to change a perscription. This has happened to multiple people i know who are dealing with seizures as their lifestyle.
I’m sure the family had gotten the autopsy to be going the length of posting it as the official cause.
Dying from epilepsy is only rare in circumstance that a person isn’t close by. Chances of Dying from epilepsy is quite scarey in that there is a possibility on every single epileptic seizure that a person could die.
People with epilepsy have a chance of dying if they are awake and no one is around fast enough to do anything.
Almost lost a neighbour this way.
if they are asleep there is less a chance someone might come by. Because everyone else is asleep and unless someone is in bed with you they wouldn’t know to wake up and do something to help.
