I think any use of “AI” is itself pretty horrendous and should be ostracised and never supported. It’s fascist technology.

11·29 days agothere is no task that is meaningful time saved by a kind of context-dependant lorem ipsum. The task is then not done, but simply rejected on its face.

12·29 days agoUh, yes. AI cannot and does not have productive output as its goal, technologically speaking. Therefore, any “convenience” is imagined and projected upon an algorithm of statistically most likely text. It’s just a statistician strapped in front of the 1 Million Monkeys thought experiment.
It’s quintessentially useless, unless your ultimate goal is text resembling language en masse. But usually, Loren Ipsum is much more energy efficient.

33·30 days ago“convenience”? You mean CEOs being able to lay off workers with some magical technology that does nothing? Yeah, that’s surely convenient for the 0.1% of people in the world that doesn’t affect. Love that “convenience” for them.
Did it cup your balls during the last BJ or something? Fucking hell, what is it with randos on the web scaping for AI at every instance…

3·1 month ago“quickly”, yes. “Accurately” is a huge misdescription.
The real reason is right after in your quote: It’s funded by bezos. He wants to have that grant money for himself to fund his datacenters, and have another item on a list of funding reasons by investors.

4·2 months ago“us, the trainers” is a bit of a misnomer, if the training is done mostly by silicon valley cultists like Sam Altman and his ilk, who have shown that they do not understand reality.

1·2 months agoI think you’re right that they don’t need to be shipped through the US, but they most probably are and will be, and using other suppliers or logistics firms that don’t isn’t always cheaper, especially with large volume shipments. Otherwise, even if there are consoles in storage, the increase has to be targeted at a whole market to also partially stave off the tariff costs and to unify a market on its conditions.
Also, Sony were the first to raise the prices for games beyond 60€.

31·2 months agoI the US it’s mostly due to the fascist tariffs, no? Latin America has a similar issue, tho that’s because of the tax system in for example Brazil. Considering the financial situation in Argentina, hyperinflation may make price increases necessary.
Sony, on the other hand, is known to raise prices, and may have been the pioneer of raising prices for their games and consoles. That’s why I didn’t care for them.

12·2 months agoUsing mono ulture as a word doesn’t change the meaning here. If anything, its a pathway for the foal you ascribe.
I do give you credit about the second part - it would be better to have your own private key in chat apps, which isn’t handled by the app itself, at the very least to establish a shared key. I still think the existence of crypto is a massive boon to many, even in a “flawed” implementation with the “control” being on the side of corporations - tho if they are smart, they’d never store the keys themselves, not even hashes. Unless you’re part of the signal project, I doubt you know the exact implementation and storage of data they do.
Still, thanks for summarising your lengthy post, even if I had to bait you into it. Sometimes, brevity is key.

42·2 months agothat’s a lot of words to say you generally accuse any programm that isn’t federated of having an agenda targeted at its userbase.
And lots of social woo-woo that doesn’t extend much further than “people don’t understand cryptography and think it’s therefore scary”.
A pretty weird post, and one which I don’t support any statement from because I think you’re wrong.

1·2 months agoYeah, I got that context now, which I also accounted for with the “usually” qualifier. I still think it builds an attitude that is toxic to outsiders and can potentially push someone into a right-wing position. I have witnessed first hand how someone fell down a fascist rabbit hole via online places touting language superiority.

2·2 months agobro just skipped the “usually” part and made a rant against things being judged politically.
I think the “everything has to be written in German” part of ich_iel is also establishing a rather nationalist online culture through linguistic homogeny and illegibility to outsiders. So, yeah, you may not want to recognize the impact your words may have, but it’s clear to many others.

1·2 months agoWell, everything is politics. But I was more wondering about the “sprich deutsch” Part - that’s usually more of a racist thing, and therefore right wing politics. But if you don’t see public transport as political you might be right-wing overall?

and yet, you cannot refute my statement. Get your genocide tech today! It can: -destroy the environment -enrich the already super rich -enable and industrialize genocide -fucks over the poor by firing tons of workers -entrenches marginalisation by propagating fascist world views and pushing for exclusionary thinking
Just because you didn’t think it though and are unable to think it through doesn’t mean my thinking is far-fetched - just that you lack the info, time, or energy to arrive at the same conclusion.
