not able to use that on my company laptop sadly …
I already made this account a while ago, but never really got into Lemmy so much, since it’s so damn hard to post videos here - that is the main reason I still used Reddit more - you can just drop videos there without having to use other video platforms that require you to make an account too,…
it definetly is for me … spent the whole afternoon yesterday to pass on ownership of all my subs to other mods …
VPN works for me so far, but like I said in another comment: I use reddit mostly on my work laptop and am not allowed to use VPN there …
ah! That explains why I had day-old posts suddenly creep up in my feed, I was already wondering about that …
VPN works for now, but I am mostly online on my work-laptop (yeah I know 😂) and I am not allowed to run a VPN on that one …
I don’t really have that much of a problem with the age verification as it is - my problem is that the only means to do so is giving my personal information to Persona, a very shady company with a not so good data protection record (they are part of Peter Thiels Palantir group, I guess that says it all).
I live in austria an we also have washing machines with internal heating and you usually connect them to the cold water tap, but usually you can also just connect them to the hot water tap if you have cheap or free hot water - there are thermostat sensors inside the machine and if the water is already hot it will not heat it any more.
every single washing mashine I ever owned has internal heating - maybe that’s different in the US, don’t know about that, but here in europe that’s completly normal.

1·6 days agoThis is a screenshot from EV Maps:

that’s a completly rural area here in Austria and still there are charger everywhere - and I have to go shopping at least once a week anyway and the time I spend in the shop is enough to get the charge I need, there is no time lost there. In fact I would lose more time if I had to go to the gas station …
At the end of the cycle it always rinses with cold water, so it’s completly normal that the clothes are cold

1·6 days agowe are talking about Europe here and not the US - the charging infrastructure in basically all of europe is fantastic by now, basically every supermarket parking lot has a fast charger by now …

14·9 days agoHonestly what I don’t understand is: why are 60% still not fully electric? Given the current situation I would expect that number to be much higher.

1·10 days agothe original poster of the bsky post laid out his sources in comments under his post - sadly the post was deleted and I took no screenshots of the comments. But you are completly right, there is no way to validate the authenticity of the data anymore now.

yeah, I was also surprised but it works. I guess I could also argue that I would need it for research ;)
