I think this is an unpopular opinion (for this sub at least) but well, whatever:
European domestic leagues are boring to follow. I tried to follow some ManCity games last year, but quickly I found myself lacking excitement or entertainement to engage with the league. The same thing happened at the time when I tried to follow Barcelona for Messi.
As a non-European, except for a match between two interesting teams (Liverpool/City for example) I am not at all interested in following LaLiga, PL, Bundesliga or any other European league. It is just… Boring. I see them as just boring competitions that only serve as sparring for those who compete for international titles almost every year.
Outside my country, I find the Brasileirao a much more attractive league to watch than any European league: almost all teams are fighting for something important, whether it is qualification for international cups or the fight to avoid relegation to a lower division. Even if the level isn’t the highest or they don’t have the best players, it’s just a more fun competition to follow.
Not really, or at least not in my opinion. You see, in the brasileirao you will find several teams fighting closely for the first places with small differences of points. It may also happen in the following years that these same teams find themselves fighting not only to not be left out of international competitions, but also to avoid losing the category.
For example, Gremio, winner of the Copa Libertadores in 2017 and in a good position in the local league, loses the category in 2021. This year the brasileirao has Gremio playing again in the first division and fighting for the top positions.
Another example would be Inter, who finished in second place last year and this year finds them at only three points above the team closest to relegation.
Even though the Premier League is the best European league, I honestly don’t find it very attractive to follow, and less if compared to a league as dynamic as the Brazilian one… But this is just my way of seeing it.
