Does a mazdaspeed count as newish? Saw it when it got first released in high school,then the 2nd gen face-lift happened and I remember telling my now wife that I’m going to own it one day. Bought it 2019 and it’s now doing 400hp. Love hatchbacks
If I could afford a 3rd car it’d either be the GR Corolla or the upcoming Mustang dark horse. I’m not a massive fun of mustangs but geez,thing reeks of pure excitement

Was in stop and go traffic in my mazdaspeed 3. A beat up pick up truck next to me with Mexicans roll down their window and 1 yells out in broken English “your car eh nice yes” and gave me thumbs up
At a gas station and cop is next to me filling up. Comes over and asks why my front license plate is in my window and why my intercooler is sticking out with no front grille. I thought I was about to given a talking to. Instead he smiled and asked me about the car, he owns a focus rs so we talked shop for about 20 minutes before he had to leave. Even asked if I could pop the hood to take a look at it,was a real car guy as he knew what I had installed. Thankfully my state is extremely lenient on aftermarket parts,exhaust etc. If it has turn signals, head and tail lights then your car is registered essentially
