Oh FFS Akiva Goldsman and JJ Abrams? Well glad we all enjoyed the first one because the sequel is going to SUCK.
Make your own instance and ban that mod from it.
“I want to press the button - an essay” - actually funny stuff! I didn’t expect to chuckle, but I did several times. Wishlisted to keep an eye on it!
Do you exit it with escape colon q bang?
Balls right now. Just balls.

I went looking for a picture of it today and got very confused when maps sent me to Australia. There is a rural locale in Australia, named after the battle - Australian soldiers fought in the battle, so that does make sense. What threw me is that the road in the Australian version has a curvature that is very similar to the pictures in the OP:
And yet, this is not the actual Passchendaele. That short circuited my brain for a few seconds this morning, imagining that it had just… never been rebuilt? Wait… part of WWII was fought in Australia? wtf?
Anyway, no. The real deal is in Belgium. It was rebuilt. Here it is (lol):
How weird is that?
No, mid 70s but try as I might ffs, I can’t remember which of these was the culprit. I want to say the John Saxon one, because it was always John Saxon. But even then I am unsure.
Not for nothing, but these things can be had on Craigslist and OfferUp for $20 all day long and are amazing.
You want a straightforward path? 2 cups heavy cream, 1 cup milk, 3/4 cup sugar - that’s it, that’s ice cream.
Flavor it how you like. Add a teaspoon of peppermint extract and some dark chocolate chips and you got Reddit’s favorite flavor - toothpaste! But seriously, add 1 tsp cake batter flavor, some colored sprinkles and yellow cake bits and you got yoruself a KILLER birthday cake ice cream. Or just vanilla bean paste and vanilla extract for the classic. Or add a shot of espresso for your own coffee ice cream. The possibilities are endless.
Put the mix in this thing, churn for 25 minutes, remove to freezer safe containers and freeze overnight.
The great part is, one batch makes about two pints and costs like… $1.50 per pint. It’s as good as the highest quality shit you can buy - and that stuff is like $6-7 a pint!
I think I only vaguely knew that a comic was the source. I’m honestly glad I didn’t know, because this is a damn fine movie, I’d have hated for it to be ruined because I loved the source - but I sympathize.
I had no idea a sequel was in the works.
I think there might be a bit more than price cuts putting pressure on profits.
Pardon the pontification, I’m probably projecting.
I require additional photos of Biscuit.
Mangosteen $1000 chair 888 hey Lowtax kill yourself lol.

I mean, this all sounds like shit, yes. But sometimes things are only a little bit shit and yet the answer is still “redesign the approach” (ie: start over).
Hexbear is… I’m just old I guess, I don’t understand. My instance is not defederated from them. Whenever I’m reading a post that originates from hexbear, I can always tell. Like it will just hit me and I will look at the source and yep, it’s hexbear.
But I don’t exactly understand why. I can’t see that they have any particular worldview, they just have a unique (and contrarian) way of expressing… all worldviews, seemingly. It feels like an inside joke that I don’t have enough information about to understand.
Doesn’t seem like bots, Russian or otherwise. Too vague. Not enough of a directed agenda. Is it just trolls? They seem to earnest to be trolls.
It’s a 1954 Chevy COE 5700, but it looks like those only came in flatbed. Pic makes it look like it’s been retrofitted with the back end of a 1954 Chevy 3100 panel van. It’s probably Photoshop. The panel van’s back end doesn’t look long enough to do this. It could have been done irl by someone determined enough to make it happen - but then it wouldn’t look like it does in the OP.
There also is a Wikipedia article which I think is not written that well. And a lot of education material by churches or religious organizations which I did not cite for obvious reasons.
That’s because Christian apologists constantly brigade those articles.
Edit: lol, and downvote lemmy comments I guess
What the hell is this talking about? A “bet over the phone about the outcome of the show?” McCartney “called during the live broadcast” and this was “the last time the two ex-Beatles communicated?” Says who?
The real story of April 24, 1976 exists, but the above words bear no resemblance to what actually happened. The story is here, complete with the SNL video here.
God I know, Twitter is just the worst!
