  • Lol pick any Dutch penalty taker for the national team during the 90s and zero

We had the legendary miss of Seedorf in 96

We had Cocu and R de Boer in 98

In 2000 we had F. De Boer and Kluivert miss during the game, which then went to penalties where (again) F. De Boer, Bosvelt en Jaap Stam missed.

Thing is the Dutch could have won any of those three tournaments but we bottled those penalties hard.

  • Look you are not going pro but you can improve enough to be a decent player in a Sunday league team.

My advice would be to focus on ball mastery first. That means just practice being in control of the ball in different situations. A lot of people would focus on passing/shooting which is important, but you can’t pass or shoot if you don’t control the ball beforehand. Wether it is during a dribble or with a first touch after receiving/intercepting the ball.

There are several ways to improve ball mastery. Wiel Coërver has produced a method that is used all over the world to improve this with exercises you can do alone or with teammates. If you search YouTube you will find examples enough.

Once you have a decent ball mastery you can practice everything else.

  • I agree. Lampard and vd Beek are very similar stylistically, although Lampard was a few levels better.

And Robben was world class, just like Salah. You could argue that Salah has had a better career because he isn’t injured as much, but Salah didn’t perform at the level Robben had from the same age.

Robben succeeded at chelsea, at approximately the age Salah was sent away. I think Robben was at the top for way longer then Salah. That is no slight to Salah as he is amazing but anyone who says Robben is nowhere near Salah is taking the piss.
