I’m guessing you’re Canadian like me. Valve considers us second class customers, that’s how.

As a Canadian, I’m pretty sure for us Valve is shipping 10 decks a day to our entire country and considering it a job well done. I mean, they refuse to communicate any information whatsoever, so that’s what I’m going with.
It seems Valve forgot to inform us here in Canada that we were paying immediate full price to reserve Schrödinger’s pre-order rather than for an actual, real, shipping product.
At this point it’s pretty clear Valve cared about getting orders in asap but cares little about fulfilling them once they have cash in hand.
That’s the thing, they charge on order and refuse refunds until delivered, so they have our money and now we get to see how much they care about customers vs our money.
Radio silence from Valve, support refusing to provide explanations, and later orders shipping before earlier ones… can’t say I’d recommend a steam deck to anymore given the absolute dogshit communication and support.
That’s because dreams are all the packaged gang have while Valve goes on giving zero fucks.
Support has decided to stop ghosting me to inform me that the reason my order has not been shipped while later orders have is because of a large influx of orders.
That could answer why mine hasn’t shipped but it sure don’t explain later orders being shipped already, unless they’re confirming it really is first in last out…
Edit for clarity: I had specifically mentioned later orders having already shipped in my request for clarifications.
It seems to go this way for us: 512gb slowly shipping, 1tb LE shipping lottery, 1tb non-LE eat shit Canada.
Especially for any of us that made the moneumental mistake of ordering day 1 and apparently reserving spots at the back of the queue.
You mean the advisory AFTER the Deck is ordered and charged for that isn’t anywhere beforehand? The one that seems to be a lottery as to whether it applies to a specific order or not? While Valve still says estimated delivery 3-5 business days?
Maybe don’t break sub rules to insult others when you haven’t made even the minimum effort to understand.
Doesn’t help that they listed a way longer delivery time for the LE then clearly decided to ship them out first. 1tb regular seems to be the slowest shipping from how it seems in here.
I’m also getting the ghosting treatment from support. And this from a company that charges on order, not on shipping. Pretty scummy.
As another person who ordered the 1tb on day 1 hour 1 in Canada, Valves approach to shipping to us seems to be “Fuck any Canadian that had the gall to order the regular 1tb on day 1, ship to them last if at all.”
By now it’s pretty clear they never bothered to even check if their whole shipping immediately and delivery in 3-5 business days was even within their abilities to execute.
At this point I’m starting to think my Deck was packaged so thoroughly it doesn’t have any identifying marks or tracking left on it. That or Valve just really doesn’t want to fucking ship it.
Seeing a bunch of other Canadians get it ship yesterday brought momentary hope, but no. Can’t even refund it the never shipping deck until it arrives despite it not shipping. Won’t lie, feel scammed and punished for ordering on launch, unsupported, and utterly unvalued as a customer.
Fuck Valve.
