Football has always been about money and who spends the most. Just not at the level it is now.
Look up how Arsenal turned into a big club in the 1920s and 30s. They were the OG “Bank of England” club

ETH apologists often reference how Man utd has had past managers that weren’t successful and that it’s not the manager and that it’s the structure, recruitment, other world class managers like Pep couldn’t fix man utd etc. and they’re part right but also very wrong at the same time. Thing is, man utd’s manager recruitment is crap as well and that’s including ETH. Tell me any manager after SAF that has left man utd and has gone on to bigger and better things? Moyes? LVG? Jose? Ole? None of those have proven anything after leaving man utd and I don’t think ETH will either. Man was fortunate to have an Ajax golden generation of talents pumped out right at the time he got there.
Man utd may be a mess at a board level however as a manager you should still be able to develop a certain style of play especially after spending half a billion in 1.5 years on players he insisted on. He’s been nothing short of a fraud so far.
Lol you’re living in dream land. Half a year suspension at most.
Just about every big club today was a “tiny irrelevant club” at some point in history. They got big by spending big. But people forget that because it happened 70 or 100 years ago.
