  • Man this source has so many things wrong I’m not even sure it could get anything right.

For starters, Toyota never unveiled plans for a “1,000 mile battery”. It was plans for a 1,000 km battery which is 621 miles and that is going to be made possible with a bipolar battery technology they hope to have by 2028.

This is notably different from the solid state batteries that they are teaming up with Idemitsu on and have always had problems with getting to mass production.

So the source mixed up the solid state batteries with the other battery tech that Toyota has been working on and didn’t even get the range right.

  • Just my two cents but once they kill the Crown crossover sedan in the states because it’s selling worse than the Avalon it replaced, they’ll likely move the Hybrid Max engine over to the Camry in some trim level that will be “sporty”.

They can’t introduce it now because it will essentially be already admitting they failed with the Crown crossover way too soon, so they’ll wait for a few more months of sales to pull the plug and then will possibly tease a sportier Camry.
