I have tried nearly all of the main streaming apps and all of them except Apple Music are awful (IMO) for artist perusal. Like you said, you get a splash page of the artist with a lot of (potentially) useless information, when all you really want is the music - and specifically the music you have added.
More for the OP, but if you are using CarPlay, I find the AM behaviour to be much better than others. Say you want to play the album ‘Ride the Lightning’ by Metallica…AM you go Artists > Metallica > you see the albums of theirs you added > then choose RTL and then it plays. With Spotify, you view Artists, then find Metallica, but once you tap Metallica it just starts playing random songs from them. INSANE. You basically have to use Siri to say “play the album RTL by Metallica.” That might be fine for most people, but I find that to be baffling.
