I live in germany and was scared as well but it did arrive in one piece. And luckily they even handed to me instead of throwing it.
They have had a weird route though. All okay though

I use my FW as my whole setup as well. I have a tower PC but I’m only using that for heavy tasks. That’s because I need to work on the go and don’t want to move files all the time.
Afaik they use less power for the same cooling capacity which would be a pretty nice cooler replacement in the future. But it will probably take some time even if FW engineers had the time to try it out right now. Integrating a cooler into the FW where every component needs to be in the exact same position because of compatibility issues would require a lot of work.
How long did you wait for the respone? They have a full support queue still waiting. Even if you get rejected you should get a response.
This sounds more like a problem for the carrier rather than framework. You should ask them again and tell them that your package didn’t get delivered. You should wait for their response (about 2 weeks should be appropriate).
By then you should have a response of framework and can decide your next steps. If FedEx declines you can threaten them with legal steps. You should keep that as the last step though.
I don’t know how it’s done in the philippines but here in europe the customs and taxes are paid directly by framework. That’s because EU laws force companies to portray the price including taxes and have to directly pay them with your order.
Maybe your country does the same? But nontheless it would be pretty easy to find out:
Go on the framework website and choose your laptop. Add it to the cart and see if it includes taxes. Then you would need to know the tax rate of the philippines on electronics and calculate them in. Now you know the price it will cost for the laptop to arrive (I assume that the shipping is free everywhere like here in europe)
For me and my german internet speed it is quite enough. Got full usage of my 80 Mb/s line.
But on the other hand, if you are further away of the WiFi-source or need a higher speed, you might want to consider the intel one. For normal office work and reasonable distance the original one should be enough
Afaik they have to sign the package. If you gave your moms adress your mom is the one who will actually need to sign. On the other hand, mine got delivered and they didn’t ask me to show an ID or asked if I was the right person.
And you should be able to get it from a pickup location but FedEx isn’t that big in germany so you should expect some distance. Before delivery, mine was stored in a city about an hour away from me (with a car).
If you still want to do the pickup version, you should contact FedEx with your contact info, your ID and your order information and should be able to do that (not guaranteed though, because I’ve never used this and couldn’t choose an option like this in the shipping menu)
