I will look up that episode. Thanks!

I used valspar signature latex, but i forget the name of the color. It may have been a mistake, since the internet says you should use an enamel on cabinets for toughness, but no issues yet.
I think the microwave will be a decent compromise, but time will tell. The counters were definitely a choice due to price. The whole build is coming from paychecks and i couldn’t justify the cost of stone. I def didn’t want the home depot special counters tho, formica or whatever. I picked up 30 feet of butcher block for just under $800.
Thanks! Mostly because it was cost effective. I had the boards already. I didn’t love the stain color, and still don’t, but my wife likes it, so it can stay.
That would be cool, but for now its just a box of old cookware.
I lol’ed at your comment. Good job!
I had never heard that one before, but Thanks!
Thanks! Sorry to disappoint. The kittens are hiding.
Thanks! We love her. Shes about 15 years old and is the sweetest.
Thanks! It wasn’t my first choice, but we had to make some concessions based on space. I wanted to keep the counters as free as possible and storage is at a premium so microwave hood vent it is. I just liked the profile of that one more than a full size one above the stove.
Thanks! People call them different things depending on location. Mobile home/trailer house/ house trailer/trailer. I never know which one to use. We always called them trailers. Its right at 1000sq ft. And you have to have a licensed hauling company move it.
Thanks! I am very proud of it.
The pics here show a little bit of how i made it. Its made from hardwood 1x2s with 4 runners longways on the underside. The top slats are screwed from the bottom, through the runners and everything has multiple coats of polycrylic. The runners are shaped to the pan slope and have multiple points of contact, but the whole thing doesnt lay on the shower pan so it doesnt block water from getting to the drain. Also, the shower pan has a 2 inch lip all the way around to support the sides of the waking surface.
Its an experiment at this point. Hopefully it holds up because it was a pain in the ass.
Thanks!!
