I had to look it up, I’m surprised that vanilla DS2 PC servers are back online, considering they shut down the console servers, and also considering that DS1 Prepare to Die Edition never had their online restored.

Reading this reminds me of Tucker Carlson’s interview with Putin. It’s very obvious through the interview who is working within historical context and material realities and who is stuck in idealist fantasyland.
Orwell: Now, however, there is a superabundance of technical intellectuals, and their mentality has changed very sharply. The skilled man, who would formerly never listen to revolutionary talk, is now greatly interested in it.
These are the folks purged by red scare McCarthyism. Stalin was very prescient. This is a good read, thank you.
Edit: The best dig was at the end
Wells: …the speeches of its members are widely reported in the press. It insists upon this, free expression of opinion – even of opposition opinion. I hope to discuss this point with Gorki. I do not know if you are prepared yet for that much freedom . . .
Stalin: We Bolsheviks call it “self-criticism”. It is widely used in the USSR. If there is anything I can do to help you I shall be glad to do so.
Their screed is a lot of words saying nothing to great effect, ideologically incoherent. Still zionists, but “conflicted” ones.
Mesopotamian Rulers allocating currency to their militaries directed their economy to grow supporting those enterprises. This stuff has deep roots
Nice, thank you! I currently use RealDebrid and Stremio, looks like Infuse is the missing link I need to get this running on my apple tv. Thank you!
Can I ask what app you use? I currently just hook my steam deck with stremio’s linux app to my TV and it’s clunky.
America is one of the largest oil producing states. The need isn’t for raw oil for oils sake either. The neoliberal project in the middle east is about destabilization, without Western interference peoples in this region geographically and economically have the potential to become global power players. Gotta interrupt that as soon as possible in as complete a way as possible. Constant war and attempted regime changes to align a region completely with the West.
The petrostate and petro dollar are tools of subjugation to empire, that’s the goal. Not the oil.
Glad I’m not the only one thinking that
suck Putin’s dick
I’m going to disregard whatever a homophobic bigot wants to talk at me about
I half think that’s the whole reason the FBI keeps these white supremacist groups around and supported.
It’s not only demeaning because it’s so obviously bullshit, it’s, it’s… also paternal or something.
I get that exact sense, like I’m being lectured by a disappointed parent.
If the media aren’t even talking to us, but the caps, could that fact be why online libs are so consistently arrogant and dismissive?
Believing a lie like OPs piece means adopting the language too, and the imagined position of power that comes with it. It sounds just like how their bosses talk.
Threatening that lie also threatens their imagined position of power. Their arrogance is mental protection from the chains that bind em.
I think you nailed it. This also is basically how you create an outlet for frustrations with material condition, directing them naturally to outlets that support capital.
I think it’s that, and also that these publications are written for the exact people their language is targeting. So it normalizes the kind of dialogues they’re having behind closed doors and helps shape the direction of that dialogue as well.
The Economy is great actually! (For the Wealthy) If we force regulations on the market to make the working class conditions better that will harm the Economy! (For the Wealthy)
Edit: And of course anything about the Economy is infested with neoliberal brainworms
Every time I read a fucking comment like this I get whiplash when I realize you aren’t talking about the USA here, lmao.
Just a point of clarification,
It got so bad that hexbear literally defederated from the entirety of blaj because their anticommunism was borderline noncery and the admins weren’t doing fuck all about it.
Hexbear defederated not because of their anti-communism, but because of their egregious moderation failures that made Hexbear users feel unsafe.
…we have come to the conclusion that the 196 community on lemmy.blahaj.zone has made the fediverse an unsafe space for our queer, disabled, neurodivergent, non-western, and other marginalized comrades on this forum, and we will be defederating from lemmy.blahaj.zone until we can be confident that this will not continue to be an issue.

I remember a lot of discussion about the “paradox of tolerance” when that was ongoing, basically the idea that if you tolerate Nazi’s in your bar, you’ll quickly have a Nazi exclusive bar.
If I recall right from some language studies on the effectiveness of those gamified apps, you’re usually better off with a night course at a community college. I’m really impressed with your dedication!
I finished Palo Alto and found it to be really well written and interesting. Currently reading Vulture Capitalism, it’s a recently published book too like Palo Alto and I’m roughly 1/3 through it. I think after this I want to dig into some Michael Hudson books, either Killing the Host or Destiny of Civilizations.
I’m currently halfway through this book and I would highly recommend it.
Hours later, once they confirmed the pair were Ukrainian, they treated the injured troop’s crushed leg, provided him with food and cigarettes, and helped him evacuate.
Implying they would have withheld care if they were Russian
It loosely reminds me of the Foundation Sci Fi series. In the novel, a Mathematician creates a new field he calls psychohistory, basically a mathematics of sociology, vaguely dialectic materialism. Using statistical laws of mass action, it can predict the future of large populations, and the first thing he sees is the inevitable collapse of empire.
About to start the 3rd act of DQ11, what a great JRPG, don’t think it will surpass DQ8 for me, but it’s certainly close.
Working on another Dark Souls SL1 playthrough, last time I used pyromancy mainly so I’m sticking with melee this time. Probably going to stick with a fire reinforced club until I can get the giant blacksmith hammer. That or a lightening club if I can’t bring myself to whack the giant blacksmith. Definitely miss having combustion and great chaos fireball
Also playing Dark Souls 3 again when I need a break from the SL1 run, nice relaxing claymore build. Love how atmospheric that game is, I’ve mostly been clearing areas and then walking around taking screenshots and admiring the art.
