1 year agoIt’s not as bad as everyone thinks. I’ve had my glossy OLED Deck since Saturday and I’ve played outside on my break times at work in pretty harsh daylight for a couple of hours already.
The improved brightness is a lot of help and of course being an OLED screen helps a lot too. The reflections are not as bad it was on my LCD Deck, that experience was way worse. It’s really impressive indoors with that vibrant screen and crisp text.
Obviously this is all subjective and depends on what you truly prefer. I don’t like smudgy or blurry text and textures that’s why I chose the glossy over the anti-glare etched glass.
Mine seems to have zero issues now. When I received it last weekend, it had problems connecting to my usb-c hubs and flash drives to a point that I thought I had to send it back.
Good thing Valve released an update this week that fixes that so it’s all good now.
