Yes, you can loosen the tie rods and get it close. Before I started doing alignments at home I had to do this a couple of times.
It’s dried coolant, not corrosion. You have a leak at the hose or the radiator tank.
How are you bleeding it? Pressure bleeding is simplest and most effective method. Pumping the pedal method tends to trap air that pressure bleeding will get out.
Was the replacement coil a brand known for reliability like Bosch or NGK? New coil may have failed
