I can definitively say this isn’t a phishing email attempt. I’m just trying to find someone who can match my style of writing to work with. (Also as someone in IT wouldn’t someone want to maximize the emails they get in a phishing attempt, I’ll be lucky if 10 people enter haha)
Everyone’s working on the same thing, it would be another story if I had everyone working on multiple different One-Shots, but since it’s the same, it’s of no use to me to have multiples. Only the first-place winner will be shown and they get $100 which is how much I charge for commissions and how much they would make for the prep to start. 2nd and third place also get a prize, so overall this is costing me more than if I just had one person to start. I can understand your concern about simply using something I wrote so I wouldn’t have to pick someone, but again that wouldn’t help me since I actually am looking for someone. If you have advice on how to make that less of a concern definitely let me know! It’s one of those things where sure I can say it, but that won’t change whether you believe me or not.
If you take a look at my prep you can see that I simply link to YouTube, I’ve never heard of that being an issue.
I’ll be doing a final review of all the work before it actually gets posted, so I don’t foresee a negative customer interaction so much, but if something did pop up then I simply wouldn’t use them for future prep! The last line is just in case people submit Jiberish hoping that only 1-3 people enter.
I’ve updated the post to include more info about the position, I had updated other posts, but didn’t add it here, so that’s my bad!
If you have any suggestions on how I can make a post like this better I’d love to hear; I’m sure I’ll eventually be looking for additional people in the future!
Cheers, Advent
Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto rpg@ttrpg.network•Advent's One-Shot Challenge: Showcase Your DnD Prep Skills for a Chance to Win $100 and Join Our Creative Team!2·1 year agoOf course and thanks so much for asking, looks like I have a bit of updating to my posts so that I can make things as clear as possible, here’s the gist though!
The job itself is basically doing the exact thing that’s being done for the contest! Prepping popular One-Shots and Adventures.
I’m offering the same amount that I charge for commissions, so $100 for each One-Shot Prepped; with up to a bonus $100 for each completed project based on how closely the person can match my style. If the person is good enough, then they’ll eventually receive a percentage of all profits from Advent’s Amazing Advice! Payment is via Venmo, but other ways can be worked out if needed! The work is online/commission based so nationality isn’t an issue.
For Content Production/Hours, I’m looking for someone who can prep between 1-2 One-Shots a month, you can choose when, where, and how to complete the work! I’ll be guiding the person to match my style and be there to help with anything that pops up along the way. I’ll still be prepping other One-Shots and Campaigns as well and expanding new ways to help people!
As for judging, that will be done by me the creator of Advent’s Amazing Advice; since I’m looking for someone who can match my style specifically. Only I will be able to see the work and only the winners will get a post on my Patreon!
Hope that helps answer your questions, if you have any more just let me know, I’m only a message away!
Cheers, Advent

Only the first-place person would be featured and I would have no use for any of the other prep.

Fingers crossed you get a chance to do it again!
Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto rpg@ttrpg.network•Advent's Amazing Advice: Grammy's Country Apple Pie, A perfect One-Shot for kids and adults alike fully prepped and ready to go!3·1 year agoI appreciate your feedback! When I make my post, the DM Notes are completely free and able to be used by anyone! The additional One-Shots are a mix of Free and Patron content, but I offer a preview of all of it which can also be used as a starting point for those who need it! I also talk about my Patreon in the last paragraph. I’ll try to make it clearer in the future that this is for D&D since we’re on a RPG section and not a D&D specific one. Thanks again!

Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto TTRPGs@lemmy.blahaj.zone•So you've beat Baldurs Gate 3, well now it's time you had a real DnD Adventure!2·2 years agoOh wow so 7 players total, that’s quite a bit, especially for a first-time DM, I usually don’t recommend more than 5. I pick 5 because if one player bails then you have 4 which to me is the perfect number! Having a ton of players can really draw out fights and for social encounters can leave people out of the limelight.
Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto TTRPGs@lemmy.blahaj.zone•So you've beat Baldurs Gate 3, well now it's time you had a real DnD Adventure!4·2 years agoDMing can certainly be a lot of work but it’s real rewarding and hey guess what If your players love it you can always use any of these resources for future sessions!
100% agree that balancing encounters can be difficult! One tip is that you can take a look at other One-Shots/Adventures that are already balanced and around the level you’re looking for and use those!
Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto D&D Next - 5e Discussion@ttrpg.network•So you've beat Baldurs Gate 3, well now it's time you had a real DnD Adventure!91·2 years agoMy Intent is to get as many new DMs as possible and make things a whole lot scary for them when they start!
There definitely are other systems, but this is a dnd community and Baldurs Gate 3 is based off of D&D as well, so most people would be looking for something similar!
Granted I do agree that there are a ton of awesome other systems out there, but I find D&D to be the gateway drug that leads to many other places!
Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto rpg@ttrpg.network•So you've beat Baldurs Gate 3, well now it's time you had a real DnD Adventure!91·2 years agoI posted it separately in different communities?
Advent@ttrpg.networkOPto TTRPGs@lemmy.blahaj.zone•So you've beat Baldurs Gate 3, well now it's time you had a real DnD Adventure!4·2 years agoThere are different people in each community, wouldn’t I want to reach the largest audience possible? I may be confused, but isn’t this similar to Reddit in the sense that each of them are subreddits and different from each other?
Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m glad that my prep for The Night Before Wintermas helped! These two are some of my favorite sessions! I hope you have a blast with this along with the rest!
Cheers!
