I played this one a few years ago, picked it up at a steep discount and really enjoyed the experience overall.

cats@lemmy.world•Our cat has a major possibility of having diffuse iris melanoma, and will have a surgery
6·9 个月前We had a very similar experience. Our cat’s eyes were green, but one of her eyes slowly started to darken and change pigment over the years. We would keep bringing it up to our vet who told us it wasn’t cause for concern.
Eventually that eye was deep dark brown, so we went to a different vet for a second opinion and they immediately said “that eye has to come out” and referred us to a veterinary cancer specialist.
We had her eye removed and while we were nervous and felt guilty about it, it was a huge success. Our cat perked WAY up after recovering from the surgery and you’d swear she was a kitten again despite being 11 years old.
She adapted quickly and the one eye doesn’t seem to impact her hardly at all.
I had a similar situation as you. I got a prescription later in life in my late 20s after never wearing glasses before. One eye had a stronger prescription than the other.
It took me about 5 days of daily wear to fully acclimate to the prescription. Each day got better than the last, but I definitely felt like you are describing on day 1.
It isn’t a fun process but it will also feel better and your eyes will feel much less strained with the prescription, so it is ultimately worth it.
I’d like for it to have bluetooth audio.

Technology@lemmy.world•How fair is a Fairphone? (Or, how much of the sticker price does Fairphone spend on fair/eco?)English
891·1 年前To me, the appeal of Fair phone has always been it’s repairability. And I think that they view the repairable aspect as a big part of their eco impact, as they intend for people to own their Fairphone for much longer and repair pieces as they need to be buying a new device entirely every 2-4 years.

6·1 年前My friends and I have been playing this since the recent launch. It’s a lot of fun! The map rotates daily so it’s a fresh challenge for you to explore every day. I’d recommend starting on the easy “tenderfoot” mode to get a hang of things first.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Shower thoughts do seem to inspire! So why aren't we always hosting our zoom calls and high powered business meetings from the shower?
32·1 年前Adding work into the shower would diminish it’s idea generating powers.
The reason we are able to come up with good ideas in the shower is that our mind isn’t otherwise occupied by doing anything else. We aren’t on our phones, watching TV, having a conversation, or working. Our mind has no obligations and the act of cleaning yourself doesn’t require much mental load. So our mind is free to drift and think freely about whatever it wants. We don’t have many similar times of distraction-free brain freedom in our modern lives.
Add in a task like taking a meeting, and now you’ve removed that key no thoughts head empty feature of showers that leads to the brain blast.
Pummel Party is a great option too!

Games@lemmy.world•$80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen"English
1·1 年前I never played the Tales from Borderlands myself, but my wife did and she really enjoyed it. She said it added a lot to the story lore presented in BL2.
I did enjoy the Walking Dead telltale game along with the Wolf Among Us, though.

Games@lemmy.world•$80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen"English
18·1 年前I’ve been a big Borderlands fan for 10+ years. I played through the first one multiple times and loved it. My wife and I bonded over BL1 when we first started dating.
Was super excited for BL2, and have played it many times throughout the years.
But the pre-sequel was a let down, and BL3 felt soulless and lacked the same spark as BL2.
Tiny Tina Wonderlands was great, and felt like a return to what made BL2 so fun.
All that to say, I don’t have high hopes for BL4, nor will I be paying $80 for it. It just feels like they’re coasting off the brand name at this point and trying to exploit longtime BL players like myself.
On foldables like the Samsung fold series, is the taskbar supported in this launcher?
I used Nova on standard slabs, but nova doesn’t support foldables. And I haven’t found a third party launcher that still allows me to use the (super useful) taskbar on the inner display.
If Octopi supports that, I’ll switch today!
Citizen Sleeper and Citizen Sleeper 2 can both be played entirely with just a mouse. No keyboard inputs needed.

Technology@lemmy.world•Frustrated YouTube viewers seek explanation for hour-long unskippable ads (Update: Statement)English
8·1 年前I’m also a Nebula subscriber for the same reason stated above. A lot of my favorite creators are on Nebula and either post their videos a week or two early on Nebula, or post extended versions of their videos on Nebula.
There’s no ads or sponsorship segments, so it makes for a pleasant experience. Admittedly, the Nebula “originals” which are exclusive to Nebula, is a fairly small catalogue. But what is there is high quality.
The Nebula subscription is worth it for me to support creators and have a better viewing experience… And to see each Jetlag episode a week early.

Playdate Console@lemmy.world•Panic hits pause on the Playdate Stereo Dock, says it’s unlikely we’ll see it anytime soonEnglish
1·2 年前Definitely a bummer but I’m not surprised after now delayed it was. Would have been a fun accessory to have on my desk to go with my Playdate, though.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are there any animes or TV shows you can't stop recommending?
241·2 年前Scavengers Reign. One of the best pieces of sci-fi I’ve ever seen. They managed to create a world that feels truly alien, and the environment has such complex cause/effect relationships. Highly recommend!

Analogue Pocket@lemmy.world•The Analogue Pocket arrives with Game Boy Color tones on Sept. 12English
2·2 年前The new colors look amazing! I’m certainly tempted, but I already have a black version so I will probably hold off.
I played this a while back and really enjoyed it. The story is heart warming, but the art style is the real star of the show. The watercolor styled environment is beautiful to explore. Would recommend!

I have wide feet due to bunions and struggled for a long time to find comfortable shoes, until I found the brand Lems.
Lems are a zero drop, wide toe box brand and it was amazing to finally find shoes that didn’t make my feet hurt in any way. They have 3 different lasts, and the product page for each model will say which last it uses. I specifically buy their “widest last” for comfort.
If you’re looking for a boot style, I love my Lems Boulder Boots and they’re my daily wearers during the colder months. They make a few different versions with different types of outsoles.
