So here I am once again trying to do something very basic but encountering lots of obstacles.
I’m setting up a VM with all my media server apps and I just want to dedicate an extra empty 4TB SSD installed inside my mini-pc to store the movies. I tried many ways (directories, NFS file server) but no success (my level is very low). Now I´m trying to just pass the whole disk to this VM because it looks easy (less commands).
In my first try i hit the wall because my drive was previously formatted and used for the previous experiments. So I wiped the disk… everything… like out of factory.
Now I am in my second attempt and when I try to do /sbin/qm set 101 -virtio2 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-SPCC_Solid_State_Disk_230431395121005 it says: volume /dev/disk/by-id/200~ata-SPCC_Solid_State_Disk_230431395121005 does not exist.
So what is going on proxmox? Before I couldn’t do it because the disk had partitions and now that is wiped I cannot do it either? Somebody explain please.
if the disk is alone on a controller, pass through the whole controller.
