I just want to know if the following is possible:

- Verify if RAID1 works properly on this product (make sure it’s writing on both drives)
- Check SMART status of each drive (already tried smartctl, result below but doesn’t look like it’s successful)

I installed two 4TB IronWolf HDD on RAID1 config, then connected it to my mini PC USB 3.0 (running ubuntu). So far it works as expected of an external USB drive.

      Can you share here? I ordered it 2 days ago (Black Friday discount for $45) and I will use it in the same way of the op (in a mini pc).

    What is this monstrosity? Hardware raid 1? The device itself does raid?

    Also, looks like it’s declared the drive as 512/512 sector size? I’ve once had a weird hdd dock that will make my hdd unreadable on other dock and corrupt my data if I write things to it, turns out it’s doing some weird sector size emulating

    I don’t trust it, I think you better to buy 2 separated dock and SW raid them, at least if one blew up then you can still use another, don’t let the unknow power supply quality from this thing potentially kills both of your drive in the dock
