Cat got stomatitis so the vet removed all of his teeth except his front four canines on Wednesday. He seems better already, but his mouth is a hot bloody mess.

This is after I had a root canal on Tuesday and was pleased that I didn’t have to have the tooth pulled.

Life has a cruel sense of humor.

How old is cat? Wife’s chihuaha had no teeth before he passed, floppy tongue sticking out, poor sods.

He’s approx 2 years and 7 months old, so long life ahead. Don’t know his exact age as I rescued him off the street (he had conjunctival eye infection so nearly lost his sight.

Yeah, that’s why the vet left the four canines in. So his tongue wouldn’t keep flopping out.

If the condition doesn’t improve as a result, those will eventually have to come out too.

Thanks man. Cracked my tooth on a piece of ninja chicken bone which led to a rando abscess. It’s cleared up in the gums but has very quickly (seemingly within 4 days) spread to my jaw. Antibiotics should clear it up.

Dentist earning a down payment on his new car cleaning it out and treating it.

Orion seems okay, and is mostly himself. Just lethargic and weird oral discharges. He’s eating and playing though but needs to get used to not relying on his teeth. I think he’ll be okay, and I hope the dental removal alleviates the issue.

His gum line already appears pink though.
