I’m posting this less because of the content of the article and more to show how thirsty even still the media is to try and make stats leave small markets. The media itself and how it approaches the NBA versus NFL causes a lot of the issues with casual viewership.

    This is exactly what I posted yesterday and I got downvoted for whatever ignorant reason. This is what the media does. And it happens every single time a star is on a small market. Every time. It is shameful.

    I understand Donovan wasn’t Cleveland’s first choice but he has been nothing but clearly happy in Cleveland and excited about Cleveland, is under contract two more seasons yet the media acts as if he’s a free agent this year and gonna demand a trade at the first sign of any “trouble”, as if Cleveland didn’t just have a 50+ win season and sign shooters around their core. Giannis signs an extension and some in the media’s first instinct is to say he could be simply securing his bag with no true attachment to Milwaukee even though he so obviously loves being a Buck. It’s gross.
