Here’s what I wrote about Jaden McDaniels in Minnesota. Barring a trade, Minnesota is entering second apron territory next season.

With Gobert’s trade value being at an all-time low and the Timberwolves looking to head straight into the overly restrictive *second* tax apron after nearly two decades of avoiding the tax, it’s looking more and more like a KAT trade is on the horizon.

I don’t know why this is being downvoted. It’s all contingent upon if the team is doing well this year. If they do well then yes Minnesota, like almost every NBA team trying to compete, will pay a tax.

Also they can let Slomo and Moore Jr go, resign Conley for less, keep everyone and still be under the 2nd apron in 24-25. But even if not, paying the tax for 1-2 years isn’t the end of the world. The big consequences are after 3 years (pick goes to 30) and Rudy’s contract ends in 26.
