Why do Havertz’s shots and passes have so little “pop” on them, they are always so weak looking.
It doesn’t matter what they look like but I feel he prioritizes control over anything and I feel that’s a good thing
He tends to underhit his passes a fair bit.
He does it so consistently I’m convinced it must be intentional or his technique is fucking him up.
Is it because he’s huge so it looks like he should be putting more on it? But I think I agree
Somewhat related but Jorginho and Caicedo passes both bobble on the ground so much and lose pace that it looks so weird and definitely isn’t ideal either
I think he’s still getting used to the system and playing a little conservatively to not lose possession/control.
Seems to be a pretty common issue for players getting acclimated to our style—it makes sense, a big part of it is down to knowing where your teammates are supposed to be and trusting them to be there. It can take time to develop those relationships.
