I’m not sure it was. I think the the plan was to rotate with White at RB, he played at LB because he was just too good on the ball to not play there while Zinchenko was out. I think after Tierney leaves next summer we’ll buy a left footed LB. Ornstein said we’d go for a LB after Tierney is sold.

We brought in Timber knowing Tierney wasn’t going to be here and knowing Timber can play in a number of positions across the back, so it was never this guy is replacing Zinchenko
Could be true. People forget Zinchenko was the second choice signing for that position after Lisandro. Arteta wants a defender with midfielder like quality on the ball.
Although my feeling was that two might have played together, with Zinchenko used as an actual midfielder.
Agree. I love Zinny but I won’t be surprised if Timber or someone else we bring in becomes a long term replacement for him. Arteta definitely wants someone who can defend in that role.
tbh I don’t think Lisandro is as good on the ball as Zinchenko is
