So I just lost a firefight where I dealt 158 damage to a hunter with two shots, 3 seconds apart. Then melee’d him with the butt if my pistol twice. He didn’t die. How didn’t he die from the 158? Would regen potion keep him alive in that situation?

Were they in fire? The fire perks now heal you a lot in fire. Alternatively, the damage screen is garbage. I’ve died several times to 120 dmg shots at full hp.
