It’s easy to offer bonuses that you’ll never have to pay out for. If you actually imagine winning something it could get expensive.
Wasn’t there a team a few years ago who offered incentives for winning a trophy and they unexpectedly did and bankrupted the club? Was it Portsmouth or someone in Italy?
Tottenham have a heavy incentive bonus system as far as I know. Their base salaries aren’t high but their many bonuses make up for it.
Why isn’t that more common? That seems sensible
