Is it me, or does this statistic just emphasise that Ode had an off day?

For me, it just feels like the team’s overall performance always matches Odegaard’s performance.

Martin’s stats are worse without Partey as the 6 because he has the drop deeper to receive the ball. Partey is the only one that has the swag to shake off a press and progress it up to Martin and Saka under pressure.

Raya alleviates that a bit by passing over the press. I mean Rambo can as well but Raya is just better.

Partey and Raya on the pitch should give us total freedom for progression and be “unpredictable”.

It’s an advertisement that the game was largely cagey and not full of attacking, which we already knew.

Our goal was off a deflection, their best chance was from pressing Raya.

Just you? This statistic means nothing much. Reality is Raya could’ve lost of the game three times over in the first half. We were very lucky. It would’ve been been the typical arsenal city games where it was gone within 15-20 mins. This also tells me raya ended up with the ball a lot - something we don’t want. Keepers only have one option with the ball - play forward. This start isn’t a Ø problem but rather displaying we were under pressure a fair bit and most of game was closer to our final third than theirs.
