Which makes me respect the general fitness of Ronaldo and Messi even more. Flamboyant dribblers do not have long selves life in this age.
Messi is even crazier, since he‘s just dribbling a lot.
ronaldo hasn’t completed a dribble in a decade
(still very impressive fitness of course, no argument there)

This took me out. Just because it was one of the last things I was expecting to read 😄
It’s odd this dribbling ability just fell off a cliff
Which makes me respect the general fitness of Ronaldo and Messi even more.
They have great general fitness, but I don’t think there’s a thematic crossover here
This is so tragic to me, I remember say to myself that he wasn’t injury prone at all before 2018 since he always seemed to bounce back after being clattered all the time, dude was alway in the top 10 most fouled any given year :( His foot never was the same after the first injury
October and February
Halloween and Carnavale
I think there’s some sister birthday thing which was prevalent back in the day
11th of March, so February checks out

I guess at some point his lifestyle and diet have had consequences on his longevity.
People overestimate the impact of diet and lifestyle and underestimate genetics & just plain luck when it comes to injuries. Some people just have extremely resilient bodies and some people people bodies just can’t take the stress.
As a software engineer, I’ve seen people who take frequent breaks, maintain good posture, do yoga etc struggle with RSI and others can sit on a chair for 12 hours with almost no breaks and be completely fine.
Insone think he’s injury prone, he just get hit a lot more then then other players. He’s hunted in the field.
Messi gets hit as often or even more and never picked up the same injuries.
That always seemed to be a mystery to me that messi is always so healthy. I would love an expert to chime in as to what the difference is.
body fortified by years of hgh
Because his body wasn’t producing enough of it like regular people.
Educate yourself.
Extremely strong Core strength. Ronaldo has it and Messi has it.
In basketball. LeBron james and Steph curry have it too.

Way more than that, lmao. All professional players have insanely strong cores, this is not special and will not be the difference maker to the degree we are seeing in terms of longevity.

Irrelevant, take your sports that nobody cares about outta here.
And Neymar is Brazilian. The refs have different tanks in fouls when the player is Brazilian.
Messi is blessed in terms of genetics, very professional, and also walks less than the keeper in a lot of matches he participates. His playstyle with nearly 0 defensive duties certainly helped his longevity

He isn’t Haaland, Mbappe or a random 9, he actually plays in the middle of the pitch and falls back consistently. I think the main reason he stayed healthy apart from being professional is because he could just dribble and move faster and more efficiently than anyone else so he just avoided being physically dominated by other players going after his legs.
He walks more than all of those. Messi has been noted to simply stand still or walk since at least 2014, after he got a few pretty bad injuries in a roll (culminating with Barcelona getting destroyed by Bayern Munchen in the UCL with him in the bench). It’s when he went from Gazelle 2012 Messi that sprinted all over the place to his current “energy-saving” form. This hit adds up, the man has run and has been fatigued significantly less than other players of similar age.
Has nothing to do with the fact that he gets brutally tackled constantly.
I literally mentioned 3 factors that help him get injured less even when brutally tackled. Good genetics, professional, and less cumulative fatigue.
He’s smaller so people don’t hit as hard. People should have seen Ronaldo in EPL pre Madrid. He was getting hacked so hard.
The bugger reason is his lack of focus on fitness and partying style, there is no reason he would get more hit than most.
He got older and he became more of a target.
He was literally kicked 3 times in a row in that january 2019 injury mentioned in the picture, Ligue 1 is a butchers league.
Dude trashed his body and parties too hard.
Absolutely no pity
Normally I don’t say stuff like this, but who wants pity from an American soccer fan bro
NEYMAR WAS BORN WITH GLASS BONES & PAPER SKIN Every morning he breaks his legs & every afternoon he breaks his arms. At night, he lays in agony until his heart attacks put him to sleep.
Wow he’s like the Jacob Degrom of soccer
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer person
He’s a like fascist or something right? Bolsanaro? Ah Bolsonaro.
Neymar himself isn’t fascist. He just supported Bolsonaro because he got rid of his tax problems. The best word would be corrupt.
Football is a more dangerous sport than boxing, in a way
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes.
Brazilian flair players washed up by 31.
This is football heritage
Except Thiago Silva, that dude is still a beast at his age
Not Pepe tho.
Sad reality. Every one of the latest brazilian offensive superstars, actually. Neymar, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Adriano, Ronaldo, Rivaldo… All of them for different reasons, but all of them fell of a cliff at 31 or earlier
Coutinho and Douglas Costa too. Could probably name a few more if i think hard
he said superstars though
Ronaldo
Came back from two back to back potentially career-ending injuries to win the World Cup
Oh wow really I’ve never heard of that before!! Now seriously, ronaldo was 26-27 when he won the world cup. OP said 31. Ronaldo was fat and a shadow of himself at 31
How do Argentinian players fare? Geographically so close but are the football styles ever so slightly different that the Argentina players age more gracefully? Obviously the current squad is pretty young. But go a few years back.
I mean I don’t even have to discuss La Pulga but look at Di Maria, Dybala, Perez, Masche, Otamendi, etc
Rest the poor guy in October damn
What is frustrating is, I, ME, I never knew when Neymar really got injured, because there was so much diving and all the bullshit. Really sad to see him out with an ACL, speedy recovery.
Not quite Martial
Wen you are dancing samba on the pitch you bound to have lots of enemies but he is an incredible entertainer from the fans pov I want him to be protected
