We’ve gone exactly 100 games in all competitions without a direct free-kick goal (since Ødegaard’s v Burnley in Sep 2021), failing to score with any of our last 41 attempts. We haven’t had a single DFK attempt yet in our 12 games this season.
Didnt realize it was that long ago Arsenal scored a direct free-kick (excluding friendlies)
how does that compare to the rest of the world?
Messi is still the last Barça player to have scored a DFK (technically raphinha had one but was deflected in)
FKs in general are very rare, let alone FKs in good positions to score. I don’t think players even practice it a lot anymore
I’ve felt that the team has missed a dead ball specialist for a while. We’re scoring a lot from corners now, imagine how many we’d score with Trent-like delivery.
How are none of our skilful players not a dead ball specialist??
Ødegaard is the best dead ball specialist we have at the club so far and he’s pretty good tbh
Well the stat can only go up so, let’s take this an area for more goals this season… hopefully…
Vieira seems like the best at the moment but it still doesn’t feel like a strong point in our squad.
I still feel Viera is a kind who needs to be airdropped into a wilderness alone with no hair mirrors for a long weekend followed by shoulder barge drills by , m, wild bears?.. he needs toughening up is what I’m saying
How does toughening up have to do with his dead ball ability. So tired of this narrative being spun whenever Vieira is mentioned, no matter the context
