People are looking at the shiny new toys on the transfer market for a Partey replacement, but why don’t we look inside the team? Rice is the understudy of Jorginho/Partey and will be moved to the 6 position gradually. We also have Patino and that boy is cooking at Swansea - really hope he can play for the first team next season. Odegaard can move deeper and become more of a 2nd phase playmaker, which he can (or already be) world class at.
Big fan of Patino. Atm his dribbling and passing range is not good enough. He is not a good enough tackler.
If he progresses a bit more he could be our 4th choice.
I see rice as a xhaka replacement.

Im just looking at better sucession planning that we had in the past. We could get the player before brighton or dortmond sign them.
Clive said something on the AVP today (Toney/Neto Scouting vid), and frankly I think he’s right.
If Rice is good enough to develop into a Carrick or a Gerard, why would you develop him into just a Carrick.
